I just shared the commissary photo with my mom who is 85 and recalls going there with her father as a child..She has been ill but Wow her face lit up! My maternal granfather worked there in 40s and he was somehow injured and walked with a limp. My father was.born in 1931 and my fraternal grandfather would have been working at the same time. We live in Michigan now however I please to say I spent many summers riding through Edgewater B and A and hearing the good and bad..still a very fascinating time in our segregated American history.
